J’ai commencé à me refaire
Je me suis dit
New Balance
a.

EMMANUEL GRONDIN/JO BOURQUE/PHIL VIAU/DAVID LEPORHO/DAN RIOU :

Since my last blog, several things happened. First, my injury came back
last April, the sports hernia. The injury is the same as last year, which just
has not healed. Since I really wanted to return to the race and running last
winter and back in shape, I tried to put aside the incredible pain that hits
you in the lower abs, the inner thigh and you takes 2-3 days to recover from a
jog 20-30K.
The acceptance process was very hard. I had to try not to think about
the competition, the challenge that drives the atmosphere of the races.
Thereafter, it was necessary that I continue to run my heart 5-10hrs at least a
week. So I turned to cycling. I began to restore my legs, love the feeling of
being on a bike and then up my shape. Which brings me to the month of June and
early July. I thought I needed a sport so I could exercise like running,
regardless of the location of my vacation and temperature. So I equipped the
necessary (travel case, tacx etc). Also, I will finish the sean with near 10 000km even I began the season in may. My bike is a entertainment but also my transportation every day now.
Thereafter, I started to live with my children and watch them grow, to
show them new things. During my last vacation in Louisiana, I was riding 2:30
per day in the morning at 40C day on the
beach and I found myself in a state of well being. In the afternoon, I was in
the pool learning to my daughter how to swim and not be afraid of the water
(although I am a rock in water). Finally, I found myself at dinner with a
bottle of wine or some beers. I found myself in a state of ecstasy of
accomplishment and all without any pain.
It was at that moment that I realized I had to move on. My professional
career is wonderful (Ocean Group), I have a wonderful woman who had to make
many sacrifices to achieve my goals. Although the running is the most beautiful
sport when you are healthy, I have to take a step back. As long as my watch
POLAR show me a beat 40-45 in the morning, I'll always have the goal of making
sports at least 10 hours or more per week.
In addition, I will have the opportunity to continue to help a friend,
a person who always support me in the last 10 years, Jean-Francois Paquet
(Agence du Pasquier - Polar). I wish I could do it with my two other sponsors
but I think it's time for me to pass the "puck" to another person who
has the desire to excel, to exceed the limits.
I would like to thank several people who have allowed me to live this beautiful
experience :
Jacques Mainguy Sports Experts PEPS. This man has an incredible passion and he knows how to transmit his way ... .Thanks Jacques !!
Daniel Blouin: The famous DAN, the man with whom we can still have fun while becoming a good athlete. I can tell you, DAN is probably one of the best coaches I know with short Félix-Antoine Lapointe.
Félix-Antoine Lapointe: It was brief but I lived a RUN OR DIE. I had to find a team and Felix helped me. I can guarantee you that it will become an important person coach in North America in the running world. He knows how to develop a training group ... thank you and I will especially remember the end of my 3000m at McGill last December.
Rouge et Or Laval University: The only word that comes to mind: WOW !!!! Keep it up guys. CPT, be the best athlete that Quebec never had !!!!

given me the passion but mostly keep making me move up step by step.

push myself when it was the time.
